Toledano Street Comedy Festival Success!

This past weekend Sports Drink (voted number 1 comedy club in New Orleans) held the first ever Toledano Street Comedy Festival. They were able to get their neighbors on board, hosting events at 3 other locations on Toledano (plus Sports Drink) and held a great festival. National headliners like Sean Patton, Ian Karmel, and Dulce Sloan came to town and did multiple shows over the 4 day fest. Local comics were included on shows, getting to open for the national headliners, plus Thursday and Sunday they did two shows where anyone could sign up and catch some festival stage time. Saturday night they even had a brass band play in between the 7 pm and 9 pm shows. They had food stands and an outdoor bar and everything you need for a successful fest.

I talked to several audience members who had flown in for the festival. Many told me they had always wanted to or planned to come to New Orleans and when the festival popped up it gave them a good reason to come. I loved hearing that comedy brought them to New Orleans.
